Anime Matsuri was this past Easter weekend and it was a blast! I had so much fun! I made a lot of new friends and I sold so much stuff! I saw panels and got to debut my two new costumes, and though the corset was painful I still had a lot of fun. And even though I broke my camera some how, I am still pretty okay with how things turned out. It was a amazing and I hope that I get to sell again next year. I actually got to meet the man who runs AM and I was able to find out a bit on how the artist alley tables get set up and honestly I feel honored and lucky to have been able to get a table there. So anyways. I plan on putting up a con video when I get the chance. That will be on my youtube, for those who would like to check it out. Thank you for stopping by and checking in!
update:
so after reading my sister's journal, i really wanted to lengthen mine and put in a bit more detail. (thanks for making me look bad Sana!) anyways...
Friday:
costume: 1700s/18th century Rococo blue gown that I made entirely by hand
The day went really well, I was the very first to make a sale at our table, which was a bookmark to my sister's friend... it was dewgong! I had a commission done of my blue dress and me to commemorate the moment. Sadly I didn't get any pictures taken of me. Someone confused my dress for something from Hetalia. I kept on getting questions about how I was from and I just answered myself in a pretty dress and they were like... "oh..." awkward! lol so anywho it was pretty good, except for some table drama, but that will change next year. we were way more organized thanks to my display and management. sales were much more than last year for everyone which was wonderful! i went to a special effects makeup panel, which was pretty cool and I ended up learning a lot! unfortunately there was constant loittering around the table, which made me angry. "HULK SMASH!" at the end of the day i went to the morning and was all cute and stuff. i danced for a little bit but soon ran away and left the guy hanging with a laugh. it was all good fun. we left around 2 and went to bed finally around 3 AM. (nevermind i lied there was one persont hat look mu picture after the panel that i went to, it was awesome!)
Saturday:
costume: Mrs. Lovett, my own design from Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of fleet street
I had my picture taken i think once, by my sister. I did have a few memory photos taken by the con staff over the weekend, which was nice. but who knows how i am going to look. drama ensued, which included love drama, but i cleared everything up on sunday, before things got too out of hand. I made plenty of sales, and over the entire weekend i would say that half of my inventory is gone, which is nice. on this day i went to a costuming panel which was held by two people from the airship isabella, and who i like to call "Mrs. Airship Isabella" or "Lady Wittaker". It was very informative and I was actually pulled to the front as an example, which was amazing! So pretty much by the end of saturday i was in pain from my corset. I really need a better one. i went to the rocky horror picture show and watched the first half, which is the better half and I still ended up going to bed around 3 AM. (oh and my camera broke, so i will have to see what will happen with getting a new one, or exercising my warrenty)
Sunday:
costume: normal street clothes, though i did get confused for agent paper and princess jellyfish (i laughed)
this was possibly the laziest day ever and the most non-bullsh*t. i took charge of the table, condensed everything so that it would be easier to clean up at the end of the day, which i noticed that i lot of people did. i had my rolling pin with me, which i used on saturday and sunday to threathen people with, it was awesome. i still made some sales, so all in all it really was worth staying the third day. i really wanted to get my money's worth from all three days.
so even though there was a lot of drama, i had a lot of fun. i got to meet a lot of people. i spent a little bit of money though, which was supposed to be spent on shoes, but there weren't any in the dealers room. I spent about $49 and made $121.50, and I already bought new fabric from my next 18th century gown, which I can't wait to start on this summer.
